Purpose
The Minigrant Program, funded by a grant from the Winthrop Rockeffeller Foundation, provides funds to Arkansas public middle school teachers to purchase consumable items for student hands-on experiences in science.
Program Description
The Arkansas Science & Technology Authority Minigrant Program, in conjunction with the Arkansas Community Foundation Affiliates Minigrant Program, will provide $500 awards to Arkansas teachers in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 to purchase consumable science materials. Kits are permitted if they are grade standard based and meet the State Frameworks requirements. Classroom textbooks, regular papergoods, and expensive instrument purchases are not allowed.
Funds Available
$200,000 per year.
Eligible Users
All Arkansas public middle school teachers of science are eligible for a Minigrant Program award from the Authority.
How to Participate
Applicants must complete the Minigrant application form available at our website. This form is write-protected and may be downloaded for electronic completion.
Evaluation
Applications are evaluated by a selection committee chosen by the Authority.
